Unstable

Description

Dictaphone is back with their sixth full album titled "Unstable." In the 25th year of the project, the Brussels-based composer and genius Oliver Doerell is once again surrounded by many musicians and friends. Roger Döring is present, his clarinet and saxophone playing has always been a hallmark of the group – along with the ghostly violins of Alexander Stolze. The dark atmosphere and experimental sound of the new album reference the Belgian art scene of the 80s, which Doerell was fortunate to experience during his formative years. Minimal jazz meets concrete music meets a post-punk spirit. On this new album "Unstable," there are more voices and vocals than usual – notably Helga Raimondi (who had already sung on the last album "Goats and Distortions 5"). As a collage artist, she is also responsible for the visual aspect of Dictaphone – she designed the cover and the visuals for live shows. Dictaphone has performed over two hundred concerts around the world (including at the Mutek, Transmediale, Unsound, Benicassim festivals and many more). Their music can be heard in countless films, TV series, and plays – ("the answering machine" (BBC), "the love he knows" (Ali Mohammad), "Don 'move" (Modjgan Hashemian), Ring (Felix Ruckert) among others.
