Description

Sam Genders renews himself with his solo project while keeping the best of his collaboration with TUNNG. DIAGRAMS is Sam Genders' solo project, the co-founder of the British electro-folk collective TUNNG. Sam participated in the first three albums of TUNNG and wrote, among other things, their song "Bullets" before leaving the group in 2008 to follow his own path. DIAGRAMS was born in 2011 with the release of its first EP, followed in 2012 by its first album Black Light, released on the English label Full Time Hobby. With DIAGRAMS, we find the innovative and imaginative aspect characteristic of TUNNG, but in another form: this time it is a minimalist and lively pop that sparkles with electronic effects, synthetic bass, and subtle grooves, reminiscent of the pop of Arthur Russell, Metronomy, Hot Chip, Steve Mason, and Peter Gabriel. Genders offers a more playful and eclectic writing style, while maintaining the impressionistic and lyrical imagery that made him famous.
