The Canadian band led by Dan Bejar unveils a 13th album combining indie, disco and electro
Destroyer is back! The legendary Canadian band led by Dan Bejar will release LABYRINTHITIS, their brand new album, on March 25th via Bella Union/[PIAS]. A real obscure puzzle for the listener, LABYRINTHITIS also creeps and ventures into unknown territory for Bejar. Largely composed in 2020 and recorded the following spring, the album most often shows Bejar and his collaborator John Collins finding their inspiration in disco, indie, but also in bands like Art of Noise and New Order. For this album, Dan and John conducted their research in total isolation: John on the isolated island of Galiano and Dan in the nearby city of Vancouver, exchanging ideas remotely when restrictions prevented them from meeting. Before mixing, the band Destroyer was integrated into the project to strengthen the album's symbiosis.
