American singer Desmond Myers's debut solo album, Shadowdancer, produced by Mathieu Gramoli and Desmond, opens with the track "Playing with Fire," which earned the artist his first million streams in just a few months. On this album, Desmond breaks free from his demons, offering us a hybrid pop sound, rich with soul, R&B, and psychedelic influences, halfway between Prince and Jack White. The album was made between Paris and Atlanta with an exceptional team of musicians: drummer Mathieu Gramoli (Her, Gaël Faye), bassist Pierre Elgrishi (Nach, Clara Luciani), and guitarist Louis Marin Renaud (Théo Laurence, Lou Doillon), who also mixed the album. The 8 tracks groove with sensitivity and power, as demonstrated by "Shadows," the album's centerpiece, which shows Desmond questioning the notion of masculinity, which he envisions as more liberated.
