THE DESLONDES is a five-member band from New Orleans. Between the release of their eponymous debut album and their latest album - Hurry Home - THE DESLONDES have toured all over the world and have been acclaimed by critics and audiences for their ability to reinvent New Orleans country and R&B. Hurry Home marks the band's transition from their early country-folk sound to a sometimes psychedelic, sometimes gospel sound, with an emphasis on organ and electric guitar. The band has split the lyrics and vocals among its five members, cultivating their democratic spirit and musical versatility. While their music will always evoke the funky country of The Band, THE DESLONDES has been equally inspired by the early sound of Sun Records, the punchy rock and roll of the Velvet Underground era, and the experimental pop of Joe Meek.
