A leading figure in the German electronic scene, De-Phazz releases their 13th studio album, celebrating their 25th anniversary! Although originating from Heidelberg, the band flirts with a Latin rhythm as sunny as it is languid, accompanied by a few solo artists' sybaritic voices, some of whom are guests, evoking the oppressive tropical heat of exotic countries and perhaps the memory of having tantalized one's taste buds with a sparkling French drink in a summer cafe next to a dusty gramophone, eyes fixed on the slow movements of a ceiling fan's blades. De-Phazz's swaying tracks activate all these clichés. De-Phazz's importance in entertainment electronic music since the turn of the millennium is undeniable. Anyone who has had a cocktail in a lounge in Berlin, Miami, or Ibiza since 1997 knows the Heidelberg band. Pit Baumgartner, De-Phazz's creative director, presents his magnum opus "Pit Sounds," which combines different sounds in an unconventional way. Baumgartner describes his working method as the creative exploitation of a huge collection of sounds to find acoustic precious metal and bring it into a new context. Even if it is, of course, an expression of pure self-irony, the album certainly withstands ironic comparison with the Beach Boys classic "Pet Sounds." Warm 60s choruses meet chic jazz guitar riffs, syrupy retro strings à la Bert Kaempfert, singing cowboys, Latin American standard dances, multilingual language snippets, and even football horns.
