Returning from the University of Manchester, Debbie Saloman resettled in London. Always a talented singer, she formed a band with the help of her father, Nick Saloman (of The Bevis Frond), and began performing in the British capital. This band, named DEBBIE DUVEEN & THE MILLBANKS, consisted of Nick and Paul Simmons on guitar, Ade Shaw on bass, and Jules Fenton on drums. In 2010, they recorded an album at Gold Dust Studios in Bromley, under the direction of Dave Palmer. Nick had composed several songs for this album, and once completed and mixed, the result was excellent. At the end of 2010, it was released on CD by Woronzow Records, under the title "Neon Classic". As often happens, success was mixed: the album didn't really break into the charts, or anywhere else. Since then, Deb has gotten married (her name is now Debbie Wileman), had a child, and become an internationally renowned singer. Her specialty? Tributes to Judy Garland. She has performed to sold-out audiences at Her Majesty's Theatre in London's West End, and has also given two concerts at New York's Carnegie Hall and the legendary Birdland. We thought it would be wonderful to allow her audience to rediscover what she was doing 15 years ago. That's why, with Deb's agreement, we are re-releasing the album. It will be available for the first time on vinyl. Remastered by Dave Palmer, of course, it comes in new packaging and offers exceptional sound. Now simply titled "DEBBIE & THE MILLBANKS", it's a real pleasure to see this magnificent album, full of catchy power pop and driven by a stunning voice, make its grand return. Listen to it, you won't be disappointed!
