When the unique band PSYCHOTIC WALTZ disbanded in 1997, a void was left that could only be filled by the formation of DEADSOUL TRIBE in 2001. The singer, flutist, and frontman Devon Graves, also known as Buddy Lackey, had meanwhile moved to Vienna due to a relationship, where he found the right musicians for DEADSOUL TRIBE.On the first album « Deadsoul Tribe », Devon Graves still plays some instruments himself, but the band already has four members. Even though the style differs from that of PSYCHOTIC WALTZ in some respects, the target audience is automatically defined. And even a bit broader, because in addition to metal and prog, influences from Tool can also be heard. The very organic-sounding album received very good reviews and was easily accepted by fans. The band then played at the Prog Power Europe Festival in the Netherlands. It is surprising that DEADSOUL TRIBE albums have not yet been released on vinyl, especially since the PSYCHOTIC WALTZ 2024 catalog was reissued (Inside Out/Sony Music). Golden Core fills this gap with the first two albums, mastered for vinyl of course and accompanied by a printed insert.
