Elgar: The Dream of Gerontius

Description

Hyperion Records presents a new recording of Edward Elgar's famous choral masterpiece "The Dream of Gerontius". This latest recording with the Huddersfield Choral Society, the Orchestra of Opera North and conductor Martyn Brabbins comes 80 years after the choir made the very first recording of the work in 1945, which was a huge success. The links between the choir and Elgar's masterpiece, however, date back to 1905, 120 years ago.
