DARDUST, aka Dario Faini, is one of the most influential pianists of his generation. His music has been heard at global events such as the Olympic Games, the Super Bowl, and the NBA All-Star Game. An exceptional songwriter and producer, he has accumulated a string of successes in Italy, with over 95 platinum records to date and two victories at the "Festival di Sanremo."
Recently, Dardust was also the songwriter for Luxembourg and the producer for Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, composed the music for the latest Maserati campaign, and opened for Lana Del Rey's concert in Milan in front of 70,000 people last June.
Dardust's new album ‘Urban Impressionism’ draws inspiration from the concepts of Impressionism and urban brutalism. The album adopts a minimalist sound palette primarily using analog synthesizer sounds such as Moog One, Juno 66, and Take5, as well as samples recorded in the urban spaces of Paris, New York, and London. The electronic component of the album represents the emotional peripheries of the piano, while the raw and imperfect sound is reflected in the rhythmic structure of the tracks.
This album challenges the conventions of neoclassical music, exploring new combinations of sounds and contrasts, much like the Impressionist technique of juxtaposing colors to enhance their vibrancy.
