The British guitarist and singer-songwriter, a key figure on the European blues-rock scene for over twenty years, presents a record that marks both a new beginning and a natural evolution, both musically and personally. When asked if there was a central theme in the songwriting, a revitalized Bryant answers without hesitation: "This album is about my rehabilitation and the changes I've made in my life." "Nothing Left Behind" is a resolutely personal work. Bryant candidly discusses the years when alcohol and turmoil dictated his existence. Yet, far from being a dark album, "it's a rather positive and motivating record – that was important to us," he explains. "The songs reflect my new perspective." "Nothing Left Behind" blends energetic blues-rock tracks like "Swagger" – with riffs reminiscent of ZZ Top and AC/DC – "Three Times As Hard," and "Lover Like You" with decidedly intimate titles.
