Son nouvel album, sobrement intitulé "On my new piano", résulte du premier enregistrement solo de Daniel Barenboïm effectué sur son nouveau piano à queue, développé en collaboration avec le célèbre facteur de piano Chris Maene. Barenboïm a sélectionné des oeuvres des quatre maîtres absolus du piano que sont Scarlatti, Beethoven, Chopin et Liszt afin de montrer pleinement les possibilités de ce nouvel instrument et de faire étal de sa palette de couleurs et de ses possibilités tonales.
