Découvrez Yesterday is Gone, the new album from folk revelation Dana Gavanski: a magnificent repertoire of folk ballads tinged with a sweet psychedelia. Yesterday Is Gone represents for Dana an attempt to "learn to say what she feels, and to feel what she says": an album made of desire, of dedication to desire, and of the uncertainty that goes hand in hand with self-discovery, an album that speaks of pushing boundaries, of failing and then getting back up. Many composers share this goal, but few of them show as much boldness. Born in Vancouver to a Serbian family, Dana has always wanted to sing. During her last year at the University of Montreal, she decides to pick up the guitar again. She spends a summer working as a production assistant with her father, earning enough money to fully dedicate herself to writing for a year, and releases her EP Spring Demos in September 2017. After Spring Demos, Yesterday Is Gone represents Dana's wish to "do something bigger, something more thoughtful." The record is co-produced by Dana, Sam Gleason, a musician based in Toronto, and Mike Lindsay from Tunng and LUMP. The album takes shape in the hands of the three musicians, it takes on different flavors, feelings, visions.
