Dan Friel has spent the last 10 years mixing various styles of electronic music with punk and psychedelic influences with his band Parts & Labor, with whom he has produced 5 albums. His first solo album, Total Folklore, follows in the footsteps of the recent EP Valedictorian/Exoskeleton, which the BBC described as "bottled raw energy". An album of urban music that evokes the fever and chaos of the streets of Brooklyn. Moreover, many tracks feature recordings Friel made on his phone while walking the streets of New York. He also left a lot of room for improvisation. Total Folklore captures the energy and irreverence of punk, while remaining rooted in electro-pop.
