When sprinkled on your steps in winter, this de-icing mixture absorbs water and releases heat, turning ice into a viscous slush, and eventually, into nothing at all.Starting with the dynamic chaos of "Up & Down" and ending with what would be Crumb's closest thing to a lullaby, the ten tracks of Ice Melt blend like ice sculptures melting into a shimmering puddle. Since their inception, the band has known that cohesion is strongest when they highlight their personal strengths - Lila Ramani's songwriting, Bri Aronow's talent for creating evocative soundscapes, Jonathan Gilad's hypnotic drumming, and Jesse Brotter's distinctive bass playing, which subtly traces Lila's vocal melodies while providing an relentless pulse. These are four creative minds converging around an ever-changing idea. Having reunited in Los Angeles to work with producer Jonathan Rado, Crumb delved into creating atmosphere like never before, crafting experimental compositions that are surreal, energetic, and euphoric. Lila Ramani describes the album as a return to earth and an in-depth study of the real substances and beings that live on this planet. It's also the work of road-weary musicians exploring entirely new sounds and concepts, pushing themselves into territories they never would have considered five years ago.
