Sacrificio is CRIMINAL's ninth studio album, a twelve-track battering ram that harks back to their roots - both literally and metaphorically. With a rich history behind them, and an unwritten future ahead of them, CRIMINAL has delivered Sacrificio, an album that could only be made by these four musicians at this time. During the writing of Sacrificio, CRIMINAL's home country of Chile experienced a social uprising that had an immeasurable impact on the lives of Chileans. Protests against corruption, inequality and the low standard of living brought citizens into the streets to make their voices heard. From high school students coordinating campaigns against rising public transport prices, to thousands of arrests, dozens of deaths and reports of human rights violations, this social outburst is a milestone in time for Chileans around the world. The civil action and vehement anger seeped into the creative process of the four members of CRIMINAL, three of whom are Chilean. While there is a deep personal connection to the lyrical content, the events unfold from the perspective of an outsider who has also experienced tyrannical leadership and witnessed the gap between ordinary citizens and the social elite.
