Standers is Craven Faults’ second album, following a sold-out trilogy of EPs, 2020’s Erratics & Unconformities LP, the Enclosures mini-album, and a series of studio performances entitled Live Works. Meticulously crafted, each album pushes the Craven Faults story forward. Each is an analogue electronic journey that draws landscapes across the north of Great Britain. On Standers, there is a sonic shift. Craven Faults gives himself a new palette to paint his canvas and sharpen his craft. We no longer travel exclusively by land. Familiar landscapes are seen from a different angle. There is a growing obsession with how this island became what it is, and how its history, ancient and modern, affects its current population. Landscapes shaped by time and natural elements, then by countless conquerors and settlers. Livestock and machines. Money, religion, and politics.
