Best known for composing film soundtracks, Craig Armstrong has collaborated with leading pop groups (U2, Massive Attack, and the Spice Girls). But his specialty is gloomy, gargantuan string music for hysterically over-the-top films like Moulin Rouge and Plunkett & MacLean. As If to Nothing, aptly titled, follows The Space Between Us, his first album, and repeats the same formula throughout its sixty-nine minutes, just like its predecessor.
