Upon its release in 1981 on the Norwegian independent label Uniton Records, with an initial pressing of 4,000 vinyl records, "Conal" propelled Schnitzler beyond the borders of Germany. A multimedia artist and internationally recognized musician, he is now appreciated worldwide. The album consists of two tracks of about 21 minutes each, constructed from multiple merged sections to create a panoramic narrative structure. "Conal" showcases the complexity of Schnitzler's composition, the impeccable technical mastery of crossfades and overlays, and represents a significant artistic advancement for this prolific pioneer of electronic music.
