Salutations

Less than a year has passed since Connor Oberst released his solo album "Ruminations," which he had previously composed in the solitude of his hometown of Omaha. In 2017, the mastermind behind Bright Eyes releases another long player. "Salutations" is the name of his new companion album. When Oberst wrote the new songs for "Ruminations" with only piano and acoustic guitar, he had initially planned to record them with a band. However, upon assembling this group, including the Felice Brothers from New York and drumming legend Jim Keltner (Neil Young, George Harrison, Bob Dylan, John Lennon), he decided to make a solo album. The singer and songwriter revisited the band projects a little later. At Rick Rubin's famous Shangri-la Studios in Malibu, he recorded "Salutations" with co-producer Keltner and his former acquaintance, musician and songwriter Andy LeMaster. There was also musical support from Jim James, Blake Mills, Maria Taylor, M Ward, Gillian Welch, Gus Seyffert, Pearl Charles, Nathaniel Walcott, and Jonathan Wilson.
