Description

Ethan Miller and Ben Flashman founded COMETS ON FIRE, surrounded by a community of hippies in Santa Cruz. They were later joined by Noel Harmonson, Ben Chasny, and Utrillo Kushner. Their initial intention was to create a rock band, without commercial pretension or seeking to follow a genre trend. They simply reveled in pure emphasis, crushing distortion, and chaos, while remaining committed to choral anthems, hooks and riffs, and completely psychedelic melodies. Blue Cathedral is their third album, and their first released on Sub Pop. With their first two albums, they established themselves as representatives of modern psychedelia. But Blue Cathedral is their most varied and richly textured album. The album was released in 2004 and is now being re-released on vinyl.
