The spirit of KPM, DeWolfe... distilled in a shabby garage in Leeds. The funky, atmospheric, evocative, and sometimes downright bizarre production from record labels like DeWolfe, Cavendish, Burton, and the essential KPM has always been a major source of inspiration for ATA Records, as evidenced by the enchanting soundtracks of The Sorcerers or even the soul-jazz of The Lewis Express. Everything released on ATA is written and overseen by the label's founders, Neil Innes and Pete Williams, who regularly draw their inspiration from the world of Library while working on other projects. These one-off tracks, accumulated over the years, are now gathered together in the first volume of an ongoing series: The Library Archive. Recorded using the same techniques and equipment as those used to create the now-legendary music catalogs sold to the film and television industry in the 60s and 70s, The Library Archive could easily sit alongside the minimalist covers of KPM or Telesound.
