Far from bands that take years to compose a single EP, Clutch is ultra-prolific. This “Slow Hole to China” proves it by offering about fifteen unreleased or very rare tracks recorded since the band's beginnings.
In such cases, there are always two camps: the die-hard collectors who want to own everything, and the others, more circumspect about the usefulness of a compilation of rarities. We understand them – if these tracks are so good, why aren't they on the tracklist of the band's various albums?
Except that Clutch doesn't do things like everyone else: 15 rare or live tracks from an extraordinary and fundamentally rock'n'roll band.
