This is the classic lineup of Cliff Richard and the Shadows at the peak of their powers; great rockers, beautiful ballads, and performing their famous "Cliff & The Shadows" sound. The album was recorded in the early sixties at Abbey Road Studios. In the early sixties, Cliff Richard had a group that was raw, full of energy and talented: lead guitarist Hank Marvin showed everyone in England what this new "Fender Stratocaster" could do. He had Bruce Welch on rhythm guitar, Jet Harris on bass guitar, and the very energetic Tony Meehan playing smooth percussion (lots of snare drum hits and tone) that give a high-quality feel to the whole. This is perhaps one of the best rock and roll albums of its time.
