Description

The latest installment in the Reloved series brings together Italian producer Clap! Clap! (Cristiano Crisci) and the rich library music catalog of Four Flies Records. A fan of Italian soundtracks and library music, Crisci explores original tracks by Giuliano Sorgini, Oscar Rocchi, Fabio Fabor, and Enzo Minuti, blending jazz, funk, boom bap, electronica, and vocals in an inventive and experimental approach. With this project, the Florentine producer pushes his usual boundaries in composition and recording, seeking to reinvent himself and offer a fresh listening experience of his work. From the opening track "Bouncy Flow," he stamps his rhythmic signature on an Oscar Rocchi funk track, followed by a modern dub reinterpretation of Fabio Fabor, then a magical blend of jazz and dub-funk mixing Italian strings and pygmy chants on "Empathy Trails." The album continues with "Right Track," an instrumental boom bap built from a rare 1974 track by Giuliano Sorgini, then "Horses and Spurs," a lo-fi jazz instrumental hip-hop, before concluding with "Blue Rain," a jazzy and hypnotic track blending soprano saxophone and footwork groove. This audacious project transcends library music, transforming the treasures of Four Flies Records into a new form of sound art, true to the spirit of the Reloved series.
