Olympia was the logical culmination of Christophe's journey since his debut and the two fantastic albums he had just released ("Les Paradis Perdus," 1973; "Les Mots Bleus," 1974). Fourteen tracks performed with mastery, in a frenzied atmosphere. The setting was magical, grandiose. During the song "Emporte-Moi," Christophe and his magnificent white lacquered grand piano soared above the stage. Knowing that Christophe then disappeared from the scene for almost three decades, this well-deserved triumph is all the more savored.
