A new album from accomplished and creative jazz guitarist Chris Sclarb, Psychic Temple II is even more ambitious than its predecessors. It's a more cohesive yet conceptually dense collection of songs. The songs are shorter but explore no less. The artist also includes three covers by composers who share his boundary-breaking spirit: Joe Jackson's "Stepping Out," Frank Zappa's "Sofia No. 2," and Brian Wilson's "Till I Die," a lesser-known Beach Boys song, in which Sufjan Stevens, Ray Raposa of Castanets, and Nedelle Torrisi participated.
