Courtroom Wedding, the wild new album from Poison Fang Society, legendary punk rock singer-songwriter Chris D.’s new project, follows two Divine Horsemen albums released by In the Red Records: Hot Rise of an Ice Cream Phoenix (2021) and Bitter End to a Sweet Night (2022).This concise and powerful eight-track album grew out of several songs written just after the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown and originally intended for a third Divine Horsemen album. However, logistical issues preventing singer Julie Christensen from recording in Los Angeles led to the creation of this new solo formation, rooted in the past. Poison Fang Society guitarist Larry Schemel (formerly of Death Valley Girls) and Tucson-native drummer Johnny Ray are both veterans of the eight-piece lineup featured on The Flesh Eaters' Ashes of Time (1999) album. They are joined by bassist, keyboardist, and guitarist Sharif Dumani, who also engineered and co-produced the album with Chris D. The songs Chris brought to the studio reflected a change in style: "I was really trying to write more traditional songs, but without them sounding too anonymous.”
