Chinese American Bear returns in 2026 with their third album, Dim Sum & Then Some, released in May 2026 on the cult British label Moshi Moshi. The idea for Dim Sum & Then Some was born the day after the finalization of their 2024 album Wah!!! The album explores themes dear to the band: food, small pleasures, simple and amusing mischief, China, love, anthems, and fairy tales. It's a collage of their lives, distilled into positivity and lightness. Chinese American Bear is often described as a mix between The Flaming Lips, Dusty Springfield, The Beach Boys, and the Care Bears. The album is packed with humor, groove, originality, and tenderness, with rich melodic instrumentation, psychedelic touches, doses of funk, and lyrics that talk a lot about filling one's belly.
