A reflection of an era when everything still seemed possible, what the internet now calls French Boogie refers to a synthetic funk with sometimes chanted verses, announcing the upcoming arrival of French rap. Assimilated with post-disco, nourished by black music, and sometimes flirting with new wave, this carefree pop with playful lyrics had a taste for easy pleasures, showing off, and sunny holidays.
