One of the first modern guitarists to believe in reintroducing the unamplified Spanish guitar to jazz, Charlie Lee Byrd was born in Suffolk, Virginia, in 1925. Presented here are three complete sessions from 1962 featuring Byrd playing Brazilian music (or tunes he composed in the Brazilian style) as principal soloist.
