Major figure in the history of conducting, Charles Munch left an exceptional discographic legacy, particularly with the French orchestras found here. All the recordings, made between 1935 and 1968, have undergone meticulous remastering at the Art & Son studio. While French music is very prominent in this box set (Berlioz, Debussy, Dutilleux, Fauré, Jolivet, Ravel, Roussel, Saint-Saëns...), the repertoire is significant and covers several nationalities (Beethoven, Honegger, Liszt, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Vivaldi...). Charles Munch also knew how to surround himself well, as evidenced by the soloists present in this box set: Alfred Cortot, Jean-Claude Malgoire, André Navarra, Denise Soriano, Joseph Szigeti, Jacques Thibaud, Kostia Konstantinov, Marguerite Long, Jean Doyen, Jacques Février...
