But these roads and deserts are primarily metaphorical spaces. It is this symbolic dimension of the road trip that is explored: far from any realism, a road trip on stage is a mental journey, a fantastical ride through imaginary landscapes. Rock music is instinctively associated with road trips, and the experience gained from Memories From The Missing Room prompted Marc Lainé to re-establish interactions between live music and theatre. He therefore invited the musicians to write the original soundtrack for this road trip, a soundtrack they perform on stage and which forms an essential element of the narrative.
