CASTANETS, aka DAVE LONGSTRETH (12-string guitar, vocals), NAT BALDWIN (bass), ALEX FARRILL (pads, vocals), WILL GLASS (drums), and SPENCER KINGMAN (guitar, vocals), authors of The Getty Address and the New Attitude EP in 2006, today release the second volume of the Unusual Animals vinyl series, published by the Asthmatic Kitty label. The concept is simple: the label's artists join forces with their friends to create unusual compositions. On Unusual Animals Vol.2, CASTANETS is joined by G. LUCAS CRANE on side B, a collaborator of DAVE LONGSTRETH in DIRTY PROJECTORS, a combination of experimental electro and classical instrumentation with dissonant vocals. An ambitious little gem.
