Carole King and Gerry Goffin were students at Queens College when they met in 1958. Over the next decade, they fell in love, married, had two children, divorced, and moved their songwriting sessions to New York City. The pair formed what is arguably the most significant songwriting partnership of the 1960s. They composed a string of classic hits for a variety of artists. Their impeccably structured melodies spanned an impressive range of styles (pop, soul, rhythm & blues, rock & roll...), and their repertoire still sounds fresh more than 50 years later. This album brings together some of the best vocal tracks recorded by Carole King herself in the late 1950s and early 1960s, including many hits she co-wrote with Gerry Goffin.
