Carlisle City Council is the project of acclaimed electronic musician and producer Jonathan Sharp. The Lane’s shopping centre in Carlisle (a city in northern England) opened in 1984, and its development proved controversial. Whilst some welcomed the bright and airy new spaces, others decried the sweeping away of historic cobbled streets in a wave of homogenous commercial development.
