CARIBE (vinyl)

Description

Entirely produced by Ana, 'Caribe' will be her third proper album and follows on from her love letter to Latin American music, drawing inspiration from cumbia, son, bossa, samba, tango, rumba and salsa. "In Latin music, women sing and men do everything else. I decided to approach this new album without a music producer. I arrived in the studio with all the scores, written for a sextet, instrument by instrument. I have a classical background, I can play Brahms or Shostakovich, whose music is complicated. So why not take on a new challenge: to fully produce a Latin album that reflects my feminine sensibility, my desire for positive celebration of the here and now, of Alegria, of spontaneous joy. Havana - where it all began. Ana Carla began her musical life at just 5 years old, introduced to the piano by the late Miriam Valdés, sister of living legend Chucho Valdés. She discovered the cello, the instrument that would shape her, at the age of 8 and first appeared on stage in Havana when she was barely 10 years old. From her musical education in Havana until 2012, when she moved to Paris to study at the Conservatoire, a decisive step as it was the beginning of her solo career and Paris became the base for her live show, from where she began to spread her music throughout Europe (in 2022 she performed more than 150 concerts).
