To The Gory End

Description

Cancer's 1990 debut in savage, timeless death metal. Presented as a limited edition on yellow vinyl. UK death metal gods Cancer burst onto the UK extreme metal scene over three decades ago, building a strong global following across six studio albums, including a stint on the major EastWest label under Warner Music. "To the Gory End," Cancer's debut album, was released in 1990. Along with their second effort, "Death Shall Rise," "To the Gory End" became a genre classic, with its influential display of sonic ferocity and accompanying shocking subject matter. The album quickly established Cancer as one of the leading bands in the burgeoning UK death metal scene, alongside acts such as Bolt Thrower and Carcass. "To the Gory End" was recorded at Loco Studios during the winter of 1989, with legendary producer Scott Burns (Death, Obituary, Sepultura) overseeing the recording and mixing, which was then carried out at Morrisound in Florida, a location associated with the creation of numerous genre classics. The album also features a guest appearance by John Tardy of Obituary on the track 'Die Die.' This edition of "To the Gory End" benefits from a new audio remaster and is presented on limited edition 180-gram heavyweight yellow vinyl.
