The legendary German band unveils the latest album in its live concert series. Mute and Spoon Records present the new installment in CAN’s live concert series: the legendary LIVE IN KEELE 1977, which is the most requested performance in the series. Recorded in March 1977, this album showcases the band during a challenging period, with the addition of Rosko Gee on bass, allowing Holger Czukay to explore experimental sounds. Although their eighth album, Saw Delight, was poorly received at the time, it is now being re-evaluated positively. Journalist Jennifer Lucy Allan emphasizes that 1976-1977 was Can's best live period. This collection reveals a bold musical approach, blending hypnotic grooves with avant-garde textures. The recordings offer glimpses of familiar themes while also presenting tracks not included in their official discography. Can experiments with sonic extremes, ranging from ambient passages to moments of sonic collapse, illustrating the unique musical telepathy that united its members.
