Calypso, proclaimed queen of calypso in 1972, did not steal her title. She is still now the spokesperson for this style originating from Trinidad and Tobago, once reserved only for men. A true emblem, therefore, that makes Calypso Rose a contemporary figure in the fight for women's rights. France, captivated by her charm with her album "Far From Home," has reserved a triumph for her. The 78-year-old diva, with 22 albums to her name, brilliantly plays with nostalgia, Caribbean "blues," well-being, and a struggle that continues: the marriage of black music and social combat. She returns this year with her new project "So Calypso!" and 12 new tracks through which she revisits her early successes, which can be heard during her concerts, as well as the references that have influenced her musical career: Nat King Cole, Aretha Franklin, The Melodians, and Angélique Kidjo.
