Places is the follow-up to my solo piano album Eskizler (Sketches), which was the result of my early compositions, studies written at the beginning of 2019. These musical experiences reminded me of the sketches I used to make in my work as an interior designer, at the start of a new project. I was deeply influenced by how these two disciplines - architecture and music - work with the same principles, one addressing the ear and the other the eye. It was therefore inevitable that I would follow an architect's process to write music. I designed my musical patterns using methods derived from architecture. With this new album, Places, I feel like I've taken those sketches a little further. I hear them evolving, in a way. Sometimes I try to build a specific place I have in mind, a place I miss, but sometimes it's just an emotion. There are moments in life that make me think that places are also spaces where we take refuge, and that we also take refuge in our emotions. These emotions become a shield, a roof that protects our inner peace.
