BTS, also known as Bangtan Boys, is a seven-member South Korean boy band that began forming in 2010 and debuted in June 2013 under Big Hit Entertainment. The septet, consisting of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, co-writes and co-produces a large part of the group's production. Originally a hip-hop group, their musical style has evolved to include a wide range of genres. Their lyrics, often focused on personal and social commentary, address themes of mental health, youth troubles at school, loss of direction, the journey to self-love, and individualism.
They have sold millions of records, performed in stadiums around the world, and reached the top of the album charts in several countries. Their followers are one of the most dedicated fan communities in the world. They organize online, call themselves A.R.M.Y., and help the group break record after record.
