Below Dawn is the second studio album by singer, songwriter, and musician Bryony Jarman-Pinto. While it traverses sentimental themes, societal change, and unexpressed emotions to the deep journey of pregnancy and motherhood, the album exudes an aura of intimacy. This emotional depth is complemented by Bryony's distinctive and harmonious voice and the infusion of jazz-inspired melodies. 'Below Dawn' is a deeply personal and transformative musical journey, with the title beautifully summarizing this transition. "This album is about me just before I give birth and enter a new era, so the name reflects this hidden underlying catalyst," adds Bryony. The album is produced by Ben Lamdin, aka Nostalgia 77, who has written and produced for artists such as Jamie Cullum, Alice Russell, and Jeb Loy Nichols. The main track, "Deep," blossomed from a vocal improvisation that Bryony recorded during a jazz workshop she led during the lockdown. Now nocturnal, the love song is dedicated to Bryony's partner at the time they decided to start a family, beautifully encapsulated by the phrase "we are a golden light, about to rise," referring back to the project's title. The creation of 'Below Dawn' coincided with the early stages of the pandemic, and the first songs capture the emotional turmoil of that time. These tracks served as a cathartic release for the tensions and frustrations experienced during the lockdown. The album's production is handled by Ben Lamdin (Nostalgia 77), known for his work with artists such as Jamie Cullum and Jeb Loy Nichols.
