A protégé of Gustav Mahler, whose memory he became the most faithful guardian of, Bruno Walter left his mark on history with a conducting style imbued with warmth and spiritual depth. This edition brings together all of his recordings for HMV and Columbia Graphophone made between 1924 and 1939, as well as the legendary Kindertotenlieder from 1949 with Kathleen Ferrier, including two previously unreleased takes.
