Bror Gunnar Jansson is the self-titled debut LP from the Gothenburg artist. Released in 2012 on The Greatest Records label with a limited edition of only 100 copies, this record was mentioned in a 2013 Télérama article as a gem from Radio France's music collection. Since then, the talented Swedish musician, whose music evokes the ghosts of Southern blues artists like Charley Patton, as well as the dark atmospheres of Tom Waits and Jeffrey Lee Pierce, has released the album "Moan Snake Moan," acclaimed by both critics and audiences (Charles Cros Academy's "Coup de Coeur Blues" award). The Normandeep Blues Records label is therefore re-releasing an edition of the first album by Bror Gunnar Jansson, produced by Christoffer Johansson, featuring 8 tracks with stripped-down atmospheres, ranging from folk ballads like "The Wandering Spirit of B.F. Shelton" to rough blues and slide guitar in "My gal drinks so much whiskey that's she stagger in her sleep." This first album already features a recurring character in Bror Gunnar Jansson's compositions: "William Joseph Dean," who also appears on the second album.
