Broken Back is a French singer-songwriter and musician from Saint-Malo. His stage name, which means broken back, is no coincidence. It was in 2012, while he was destined for a career in business, that the young man launched into music: forced into a long convalescence after a spinal displacement, he took his old guitar out of the closet and demoed his first songs in his bedroom. He was then spotted on online music platforms by posting a cover of a Bon Iver song on SoundCloud. Very quickly, a fan base formed around his videos. The general public discovered him with his first composition Halcyon Birds and the young singer-songwriter soon made his place in the musical landscape. He released a first eponymous album in 2016: Broken Back. A recognizable voice among all and dreamy melodies between a folk naturalness and an electronic sound. In 2017, while this first EP accumulated 80 million streams in France and nearly 200 million worldwide, Broken Back was nominated at the Victoires de la musique in the category Révélation scène. This new album "Smile Again" is, musically speaking, for the artist, a true return to basics. Pop and sweet melodies, dreamy harmonies, warm electric guitars, nylon strings, ukulele and cavaquinho, with catchy and warm refrains that further weave this sunny and gentle universe that defined the signature of the artist's very first Indie Pop Electro hits. With this album, Broken Back marks his grand return to the forefront of the French electro pop Indie scene, in media, radio, and live throughout France.
