Brigitte - Vinyle Violet

Description

Brigitte Bardot's musical career began after signing with the Phillips label in 1962, although her film debut was in 1952. The icon's first album, released in 1963 and simply titled Brigitte, is an immersion into the carefree France of the sixties, with a style adapted to the twist dance craze that was gaining popularity among teenage audiences. Her impish, slightly off-key voice possesses an incredible charm and lends a unique modernity to these songs, custom-written by the cream of songwriters (and orchestrated by Claude Bolling). Serge Gainsbourg offered her the amusing "L'Appareil à sous," Jean-Max Rivière and Gérard Bourgeois the unforgettable "C'est rigolo," and then, of course, there's "La Madrague" (her house in Saint-Tropez), crafted by the aforementioned duo, a little masterpiece that would stick with her.
