With one foot firmly planted in a bygone childhood, the other fleeing the greyness of adulthood, Peter Pan syndrome has hit Born Idiot hard. With "Afterschool," their first fully self-produced album, these adorable lunatics have successfully recounted the wanderings of a youth spent feeding on rock music, long naps, and discount beers on the streets of Rennes. Their sound contains the sweetness and nostalgia of first times, but also all the uncontrollable passion of youth. After the acclaimed release of the taster "Cocktail Bomb" with Flore Benguigui (L'Impératrice) and following a tour of nearly 50 dates in France, including opening for L'Impératrice, Her, MNNQNS, and an electrifying showcase at MaMa, Born Idiot are back to take us on their "Coco Trip," following in the footsteps of the Trailer Park Boys to the sound of increasingly effective pop anthems. Out of step with reality, the five Born Idiots drift at their own pace in a comfortable parallel world that links cynicism, two-bit revolutions, and infinite worldliness.
