Description

The quintessential Balkan Brass Band, Boban i Marko Markovic once again assume the role of the leading band of the Balkans (a title they have held since the late 80s). Their music, performed by an orchestra of 12 exceptional Gypsy musicians, is entirely dedicated to showcasing Gypsy music while drawing inspiration from other musical and cultural horizons closely linked to that of the Gypsies. To date, Boban i Marko Markovic have won all the most prestigious awards in Serbia: "Trumpet Maestro" (x 2), "Golden Trumpet", "First Trumpet", "Best Orchestra", "Best Concert". In addition to numerous album releases, Boban and Marko Markovic Orkestar have collaborated on the following projects: · Emir Kusturica's films: "Underground" & "Arizona Dream" · "Unblocked" compilation (Eastern European music) · "Srbija: Global Sounds" vol. 1, 2 and 3 · "Golden Brass Summit" anthology of 40 years of the Guca festival.
