« Everything », the first album from the Chicago quartet Bnny, could be considered a field recording from the edges of grief. Composed over several years of work by singer Jess Viscius, as she mourned her partner, the album is a chronicle of love in all its complexity and of the most persistent loss. In the vein of Wilco during the « Sky Blue Sky » era or the poignant vulnerability of Tomberlin or Helena Deland, Viscius's songwriting is both evocative and profound. An emblematic figure of the Chicago music scene, the album was produced by Jason Balla (Dehd), and the stripped-down arrangements dissect complex truths while exuding a dimension that is both timeless and transcendent. « Everything » will be released in September on Fire Talk (Dehd, Deeper, Mamalarky).
